My time at UofSC has given me the opportunity to travel to places I never thought I could; to meet people I never knew I needed; and, perhaps most importantly, to change the way I see the world around me.

Impactful experience:
During the summer of 2019 I lived in Moshi, Tanzania for three months, working with the African Impact Foundation on economic development projects. I taught basic level business curriculums to two womens and one men’s group as well as developed a budget and project proposal for a school they were planning to build. This experience not only changed how I viewed education and equality but I also reminded me why I decided to study business in the first place, and how it can be used to change lives.

Enjoy most as a TS:
My gut answer is that being a Top Scholar meant that I was able to study for four years and travel to three continents without ever having to worry about student loans or burdening my parents. This opportunity truly did change my college experience. However, what I have really enjoyed the most about being a Top Scholar is the people I've met through the program. Both students and faculty alike in the Top Scholar program have become friends and mentors that I will keep with me throughout my entire future. My college education and experience would both have been significantly less impactful if it were not for the intelligent and caring minds that I had supporting me along the way.

Story:
By far the most influential experiences I had at UofSC were my times studying abroad. I spent a summer in Barcelona, Spain and rediscovered my love for Spanish. I spent three month in Moshi, Tanzania and found I have a passion for economic development. And then I was kicked out of Santiago, Chile after only a month because of the pandemic and realized I'm very interested in international politics. I have yet to discover how I plan on intertwining all of these "new found" interests into a career path or life plan but I have come to know that it's okay not to know. So perhaps the real most influential thing UofSC has given me is the ability to find comfort in uncertainty and curiosity.

Post-graduate plans:
Molly will be moving to Austin, TX to work as a Business Development Representative for Arrive Logistics.

Career goals/professional aspirations:
I would like to one day attend law school to study business and environmental law; and then to eventually become a consultant specializing in the development and implementation of sustainable supply chains.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
