Biographical information:
I was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I did my Bachelor of Science in Public Health in Ethiopia and my masters in Epidemiology in The Netherlands. I chose to join USC mainly to get the opportunity to work with professors that I share a similar research interest. I like travelling and hiking in my spare time.

Research interests:
I am interested in maternal health, specifically on gestational weight gain and maternal obesity. I am also interested in sleep disturbance in overweight and obese mothers.

Thesis/Dissertation:
My dissertation is going to focus on the role of behavioral interventions on sleep disturbance during pregnancy and postpartum. I am currently finalizing my course work and then I will fully engage in working on my dissertation proposal.
