  • Phone Coaching as a Rescue Strategy for Early Non-Responders Enrolled in an Internet-Delivered Weight Loss Program (PI: Jessica Unick, PhD [The Miriam Hospital]; Co-I: Christine Pellegrini, PhD)
    • The aim of this study was to compare weight outcomes among early non-responders randomized to Brief phone coaching, Extended phone coaching, and Control over the course of an internet-delivered weight loss intervention in adults with overweight and obesity.

  • Knee Arthroplasty Activity (KARAT) Trial (PI: Elena Losina, PhD [Brigham and Women's Hospital]; Site PI: Christine Pellegrini, PhD)
    • The purpose of this study was to plan a multisite clinical trial to test an innovative application of behavioral science principles that invoked both internal motivation (using motivational interviewing) and external motivation (using financial incentives) to improve PA among persons with knee osteoarthritis (OA) undergoing TRK.

  • Influence of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Stress and Dietary and Physical Activity Behaviors: A Qualitative Investigation (PI: Pellegrini)   
    • The purpose of this study was to explore current changes in stress and diet and activity behaviors from a social ecological perspective by interviewing 30 participants with overweight/obesity during the COVID-10 pandemic.

  • Promoting Physical Activity via Physical Therapist Following Knee Replacement – The PATH Study (PI: Christine Pellegrini, PhD; Co-I’s: Debbie Brown, MS, PT, OMT-C [Palmetto Health USC Orthopedic Center], Sara Wilcox, PhD)
    • The purpose of this project was to conduct a pilot randomized controlled trial to examine the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a physical therapist led physical activity intervention on physical activity levels in TKR patients after surgery.

  • NEAT!2 Sedentary Behavior Reduction Intervention for Individuals with Past or Present Knee Symptoms, Injuries, or Surguries (PI: Christine Pellegrini, PhD; Co-I: Courtney Monroe, PhD)
    • The purpose of this project was to conduct a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the effect of an mHealth sedentary reduction program (NEAT!2) over a 6 month period of time in adults with past or present knee symptoms, injuries, or surgeries.
  • Perspectives and Preferences for Weight Management After Spinal Cord Injury (PI: Sherri LaVela [Northwestern University & Hines Veterans Administration Hospital]; Co-I/Consultant: Christine Pellegrini, PhD)
    • The main purpose of this study was to better understand the concerns people with spinal cord injury face when they want to manage weight and incorporate healthy eating and physical activity into their lives.
    • Funded by Department of Defense Spinal Cord Injury Research Program SC160051 (10/01/2017 - 09/30/2020).
  • Function, Activity, and Sedentary Time in Adults with Disability (FAST-D) (PI’s: Christine Pellegrini, PhD, Stacy Fritz, PhD, Courtney Monroe, PhD)
    • The purpose of this study was to examine the concurrent validity of the GT9X Link Actigraph accelerometer step count function under a controlled condition, using manually counted steps as a criterion measure. Additionally, this study aims to measure and describe sedentary and physical activity behavioral patterns over a one-week time frame in those with a mobility disability.
