About the Museum
The Carolina Pharmacy Museum is housed on the first floor of the UofSC College of Pharmacy, in the Coker Life Sciences Building.
After undergoing extensive renovations, the museum was officially dedicated on November 16, 2017, to Deans Emeriti Julian H. Fincher and Randall C. Rowen - along with the many students, faculty, and loyal supporters who made these efforts possible.
Our Pharmacy Artifacts
Many of the pharmacy artifacts, prescription labels, and books you will find in our museum were generously donated by James M. Smith and Charles R. Yandell in our early endeavors and remain focal points of the museum today. The remaining donations were retrieved from storage or have been graciously donated since the opening of our museum. The Carolina Pharmacy Museum now houses over 2,000 pharmacy artifacts.
Our museum curator, Assistant Professor Kathy Quarles Moore, recruited students who were passionate about pharmacy history to help catalog and assemble our many pharmacy artifacts. Some of our collection is available to view online in our photo gallery. To schedule an in-person tour of the Carolina Pharmacy Museum, please contact us.
