Background

Jason Halterman is an Undergraduate Career Services Manager in the Office of Career Management (OCM) at the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business. In this role, he provides professional development resources and coaching regarding topics including resumes, cover letters, interviewing skills, networking and professional communication. Prior to joining OCM, Jason served as an Interpersonal Violence Victim Advocate and Prevention Coordinator at the University of South Carolina, and worked as a Personal Banker and Operations Specialist for Chase Bank.

Currently, he coaches students pursuing degrees in accounting, economics, and risk management and insurance. He also teaches Business Careers in a Global Economy, a cutting-edge career tools class and a graduation requirement for all business majors. In addition to teaching University 101, Jason also serves as a member of the Professional Development Team for the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support. He received is bachelor of arts degree in spanish education and physical education from Grand Valley State University in Michigan, his master’s of education in higher education and student affairs from the University of South Carolina, and has a certificate in anti-racism education. Jason has a passion for working with students, teaching, and helping them become their best selves.

Jason describes himself as an “athletic nerd.” You can find him most mornings working out at the Strom Thurmond Wellness and Fitness Center. He spends his free time running, playing videogames on the computer he built, cooking amazing meals, reading a book, being with friends, or watching movies at the theaters.
