Our summer program in Tours, France will take you to a region known for fine winds, mild weather, châteaux, and their "pure" French that's free from regional accent. While you're there you'll take French courses taught by native speaking faculty at the Institut de Touraine. You'll typically spend 20 hours per week in class with excursions in the afternoons and weekends. While the program is open to beginners, we recommend that you've taken French 122 before participating.
Housing: You'll be staying in a single room in a family home that has been screened by the Institut. These homes are within walking distance to class or accessible by public transportation.

This program focuses on the humanities and social sciences and is a great fit for anyone studying both German and business, political science, history, psychology, English, or philosophy. We recommend you've completed three years of college-level German courses before applying.
Housing: You'll have the option to be housed in university residence halls or to arrange your own off-campus housing

This summer program will take you to the Institut für die Deutsche Sprache und Kultur in Martin-Lutherstadt-Wittenberg to study the German language and contemporary culture. In addition to completing 6 credit hours, you'll also participate in organized weekend and day excursions.
Housing: Lodging is with German families from the Wittenberg area, selected by the Institut für die Deutsche Sprache und Kultur, our partner organization.

You don't need to speak any German to take advantage of this study abroad program to the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. This location is a leader, even in Germany, in renewable energy where every second kilowatt hour is generated from wind, sun, or biomass. During the program you'll have the chance to visit sustainability and cultural sites around the state and in Berlin and to collaborate on a sustainability project in a local high school.

You don't need any previous Italian language experience to explore one of TUSCany's most charming towns on this study abroad trip. In addition to course work, you'll take guide tours, participate in cooking classes, and attend classical music concerts.
Housing: You will be housed in single or double occupancy homestays throughout Siena within 20 minutes or less of classroom locations

This program will take you to the oldest continually inhabited city in Southwest Europe. While you're there, you'll study Spanish language and culture for credit that can be applied to your Spanish major, minor or for general University credit. In addition to exploring the city, you'll also travel to such destinations as Seville, Granada, Gibraltar and Morocco.
Housing: You'll stay with Spanish families in the area who have been researched and vetted by Centro MundoLengua. Many have participated in the program for years.

This program provides students a unique opportunity to gain USC course credits while learning about culture in Peru. Participants are accompanied and instructed by USC faculty. During this program, students will have the chance to explore colonial buildings, 16th century churches, museums, and immerse themselves in the history of Peru.

USC’s official exchange and global direct program in Japan is designed to expose USC students to Japanese life and culture. The program is located in Osaka, the center of the second largest metropolitan area in Japan. This is a convenient location for a weekend day trip to Kyoto, the most famous historical tourist attraction in Japan. There are several course options available, in addition to Japanese language and culture, for students across several majors. Students must have completed at least two semesters of college-level Japanese language before starting the program.
Housing: Students are guaranteed housing. This may be on-campus with Japanese and international students in the International Dormitory or off-campus in a local apartment.
