City to honor national champion Gamecocks with parade

Columbia Major Steve Benjamin and the city of Columbia plan to commemorate South Carolina's NCAA Women's Basketball National Championship with a parade at 3 p.m., Sunday (April 9) on Main Street.

Registration for Women's Leadership Institute opens April 3

At 8 a.m. today, online registration will open for one of the university’s most popular annual events. Based on recent years, it’s expected to fill up in 24 hours. It’s the Women’s Leadership Institute, a free daylong conference of professional and personal development offerings for women in higher education that will take place April 26.

Top students honored at annual Awards Day ceremony

Three graduating seniors received the university's highest honors at the annual Awards Day ceremony. Jory Mackenzie Fleming and Megan Patricia O’Brien received Algernon Sydney Sullivan awards, the university’s top honor for undergraduates, and Cory Cambridge Alpert received the Steven N. Swanger award, the university’s second-highest undergraduate honor.
