Co-sponsored by the Department of Environmental Health Sciences and the School of the Earth, Ocean, and Environment, the club is a student chapter for the American Water Works Association (AWWA). AWWA is a professional organization focused on the drinking water and wastewater industry that provides total water solutions assuring effective water management. AWWA unites the diverse water community to advance public health, safety, the economy, and the environment.
SCAWWA Carolina Chapter promotes the common professional interests of its members through not-for-profit activities including, education, training, meetings, conferences, publications, and philanthropic work.
The student chapter holds meetings, on-campus activities, and field trips to stay engaged with one another and the community. The chapter offers information about internships and full-time employment and invites industry representatives to chapter activities where students can network with professionals in the field. Through activities, students are assisted in launching satisfying careers in a wide variety of areas in the water industry and other related fields.

- River clean up with Congaree Riverkeeper in Columbia Area
