She graduated with a B.A. in English from Wofford College in 1998, and a Master of Speech Pathology (M.S.P.) from the University of South Carolina in 2000. She is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist whose current focus is investigating the relationship between language impairment and response to treatment with patients with chronic aphasia, to better predict aphasia treatment outcomes.
