Background
Dr. Beaver joined the College of Nursing faculty in the spring of 2018. She has been a nurse for over 30 years and has held many different leadership positions, including Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Chief Nursing Officer. She is a certified Health Care Executive through the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE) and a certified Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS-BC) by the ANCC. Dr. Beaver has been Guest Editor for Nursing Clinics of North America on 2 occasions – once for Peripheral Vascular Disease, and again for Trauma Care. Her most recent publication was her DNP project and she did an interventional study with emergency department nurses which examined an assessment of suicidal patients who seek crisis management in the ED.

Research
DNP project: Nursing Attitudes towards Suicidal Patients in the Emergency Department: An Assessment Interview Training. This was an interventional study with emergency department nurses which examined an assessment of suicidal patients who seek crisis management in the ED.
Dissemination
Dissemination activities include local and regional presentations, Guest Editor for nursing journals, and journal publications.
