Young Artist Piano Study

The Young Artist Program is our most comprehensive. Pianists improve their technique, performance, theory, listening and creative skills through weekly lessons and classes.

Program Description

Students receive 29 weekly lessons (45 or 60 minutes), 6 repertoire classes, and 20 musicianship classes each year.* Students participate in formal performances including one recital per semester, SCMTA state auditions, and the Royal Conservatory Exams All classes and events are included in the tuition cost, including RCM exams up to Level 8, making this a high-value lesson package. The private teacher may encourage additional performances and auditions (may be at additional cost).

*The Center for Piano Studies will resume customary operations in Fall 2021, with classes and lessons occurring in-person at the School of Music. The CPS will follow University procedures and decisions regarding cancellations and closures, and will continue required safety measures (COVID-19 related). To request continuation of online lessons, please write to the director, Dr. Sara Ernst. See policies for more details.

Cost with 60-minute lessons: 2 payments of $783 or 6 payments of $261.
