Background

Col. Cody L. Zilhaver is a distinguished military graduate from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and was commissioned an Air Defense Artillery officer through Edinboro’s Army ROTC program in 1994 and transferred to the Finance Corps in 1999. Prior to commissioning, he enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard as an Infantryman in 1989. Zilhaver’s key military assignments include:

  • Platoon Leader, Executive Officer and Commander of Bravo Battery 5-7 Air Defense Artillery (PATRIOT) at Hanau, Germany, and Operation Desert Falcon at Dharan, Saudi Arabia
  • Commander, Charlie Detachment 39th Finance Battalion at Giessen, Germany
  • Director, Finance Officer Basic and Captains’ Career Courses at Fort Jackson, South Carolina
  • Brigade S3, 266th Finance Command at Heidelberg, Germany and Operation Iraqi Freedom at Baghdad, Iraq
  • Chief, Financial Management Plans and Policy Branch J8 in United States Central Command at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida

Zilhaver has been married to the former Angela Rabsahl from Aschaffenburg, Germany, since 1996 and together they have one son, Army First Lieutenant. Nicholas Zilhaver, a Finance and Comptroller officer branched detailed to Infantry, who is serving at Hohenfels, Germany. Nicholas graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2020 and completed the Army ROTC program.
