Background
Matthew R. Pollack, MD, received his medical degree and a master’s degree in physiology from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond. He completed his residency in family medicine at Trident Health System/Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. Pollack previously served as a primary care and sports medicine physician with Palmetto Primary Care Physicians in Charleston. He specializes in providing patients of all ages non-operative sports medicine care. An expert in concussion management, he is trained in using ImPACT computerized concussion evaluation software. He also is skilled in providing comprehensive orthopedic care using the latest in ultrasound technology, and will offer patients viscosupplementation injections for osteoarthritis of the knee joint. Dr. Pollack serves as a team physician for the USC Gamecocks.
