Want to see what's happening on campus and be the first to hear about upcoming alumni events? Interact with the Honors College through social media! Connect with other Honors alumni by joining our alumni-only group on LinkedIn: "South Carolina Honors College Alumni."

Become a Class Captain
Do you have more Facebook friends than anyone you know? Are you a connector? We're looking for alumni from each class to help us reconnect to those with whom we've lost touch. Class Captains may help the Honors College locate missing alumni, vet ideas for alumni initiatives, approve any letters written specifically to their graduating classes and plan reunion activities. If you are interested in becoming a class captain, please contact Amanda Compton.
Interested in getting involved but think you're too far away or too busy to make an impact? You can still support Honors College initiatives by donating to our Carolina Fund, an unrestricted fund that allows gifts to be used to support our areas of greatest need. Gifts may also be designated for specific scholarships or programs.
Sponsor an Event
The South Carolina Honors College benefits from expanding our network everywhere. Events outside of Columbia can help us reach new students and connect alumni of all ages. It also gives us a chance to share what's happening on our vibrant campus. Alumni willing to sponsor or help plan events in their cities are always greatly appreciated. Please reach out to Amanda Compton with your ideas and interest in hosting an event!
Host an Intern
Internships are an important part of the Beyond the Classroom initiative in the Honors College. The Honors College internship program offers businesses and organizations a personalized approach for finding outstanding college interns and potential employees. Our goal is to provide our students valuable work experience to complement their academic preparation.
Your status and experience as an Honors College graduate is valuable to our current students. If you are interested in hosting a student intern at your place of employment, you may contact Julie Hutt directly (803-777-1180).
It's a team effort to recruit top-notch students to the Honors College. You can help by telling prospective students about your Honors College experience and encouraging them to visit us. High school students can be added to the University's mailing list by contacting the Office of Admissions (803-777-7700).
Serve as a Second Reader
Remember completing your senior thesis? We have students doing more than just writing extensive research papers - projects have ranged from a study of Ward One, the community that once stood where we now call campus, to musical compositions to a paper on the history and evolution of the Honors College. As a second reader, you'll see firsthand what our students feel passionate about and how they're learning and sharing more information.
Let us know if you're interested in serving as a second reader and we'll do our best to match you with a current student in your field. Acting in this capacity is a great way to share your expertise with a student who's interested in your field.
