South Carolina Honors College

Ask me about… changing your major, club sports, internships, professional fraternities, and the Darla Moore School of Business

I am a Marketing major with a minor in Sport and Entertainment Management, and I’m from Waxhaw, NC. I enjoy playing all types of sports, geeking out to Marvel movies and Game of Thrones, and spending time with my friends. On campus I am involved in Club Ultimate Frisbee and my business fraternity, Phi Chi Theta. In the future, I hope to work in the marketing department of a sports organization.

My advice for prospective students: Find the school that you can best picture yourself attending. Take everything into account such as atmosphere, size, location, and opportunities. When you find the school that best suits you, your next four years will look great!

My advice for current students: Take advantage of all the opportunities surrounding you. With such a large student body, I guarantee there are people that share your interests. Join an art club, play intramural sports, play video games, take classes that interest you -- do what makes you happy!

My favorite thing about the Honors College: Definitely the people. This includes my friends, professors, and advisors. The Honors College is full of people who want to support you and I have never once felt like nobody can help me.

My reason for choosing the SCHC: The idea of small classes where professors can work with you directly inside of a large school with a great campus and atmosphere was too good to pass up.

My favorite things: The Green Bay Packers, Arby’s roast beef sandwiches, Gamecock Club Hockey games, Game of Thrones, and Burger Tavern 77.

Favorite movie: Avengers: Endgame. The movie perfectly wraps up the over 20 movie Marvel series and 10 years of films. The actors, score, and effects all go together so well.

Currently Reading: The prequel to The Hunger Games series called A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The book follows young President Snow on his journey to power -- so far he seems so different from the person he is in the Hunger Games.

My pet peeve: When groups of people walk slowly in a horizontal line. You cannot pass them because they are taking up the whole walkway so you are just left to walk slowly behind them.

My motto in life: “What am I going to remember in 20 years?” If I have a choice between a once in a lifetime experience or a mundane daily task I will always choose what I will remember most. Life is short so live it up!

Something new I'd like to learn: I would love to learn how to cook more. I have slowly been learning how to cook. I would like to be self-sufficient when it comes to food.

Something that makes me laugh: My roommates being loud in the apartment living room while I am in my room doing work. When I am a little stressed out with homework, my roommates goofing around never fail to make me laugh.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
