I am from the beautiful city of Greenville, SC, and I’m majoring in Mass Communications with a minor in Business Administration. I fell in love with UofSC’s school of Journalism during freshman year, and have been in the College of Information and Communications ever since. I am currently working at an internship for the SC Public Charter School District, but I am very open-minded about my future career. I would love to work somewhere within the communications, public relations, and fashion industries
My advice for prospective students: Reach out and ask questions! I was always intimidated by talking to big universities and thought that their employees were too busy to answer my tedious questions. Here at UofSC, we want to answer your questions! We want to get to know you and help you make the right decisions for your college journey.
My advice for current students: Take advantage of UofSC’s resources. I was overwhelmed with all the different departments, clubs, and opportunities at UofSC when I first came. Whether it’s joining a club, finding a mentor, getting involved in an internship, signing up for tutoring, or checking a book out at the library, UofSC has endless (and free) resources that are made especially for students like you!
My favorite thing about the Honors College: I love walking across campus and recognizing so many people I have met through Honors. It is truly such a close and tight-knit community. The first days of class are always intimidating no matter how old you are, but I can always count on knowing people from my honors courses.
My reason for choosing the SCHC: The initial attraction for me was that UofSC was the #1 public honors college in the country. However, after attending info sessions and getting connected with the Honors community, I was really drawn in by the welcoming staff and current students. I wanted to attend a big, in-state public school, but Honors allowed me to still have a close friend group and been a launching pad for my future aspirations.
My hobbies: I love going to the gym, the beach, hiking in the mountains, amusement parks, thrift shopping, traveling, and watching movies. I also love to play the acoustic guitar and electric bass!
Something new I'd like to learn: So many things! I want to play the saxophone, learn how to play chess, become better at rollerblading, and learn how to invest in the stock market and cryptocurrency better.
Songs I could listen to non-stop: Wishing Well by Juice WRLD has been my anthem in life. I listen to this song probably 7 times a day, every day.
My motto in life: If you don’t ask, the answer is always no! (Or as Michael Scott said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”)
My dream job: My dream job is to have my own fashion line.
My escape: Going to the gym!! I will spend hours at the gym rock-climbing, doing UofSC’s GroupX classes, and of course leg day!
