Advancement

The College of Arts and Sciences advances its mission through strategic approaches in external relations, development and communications.

The college's advancement teams work together to: 

  • Enhance the college’s reputation among all constituents.
  • Engage alumni as volunteers, advocates and supporters.
  • Promote the college to prospective students and their parents. 
    Build relationships and partnerships with corporate, nonprofit and community leaders.
  • Secure financial support from donors committed to the mission of the college. 

The teams also assist college departments, centers and institutes, faculty and staff with these endeavors.

External Relations

The external relations team manages the college’s Board of Visitors, Alumni Councils, alumni engagement and special events. It also builds relationships with community groups, corporations, nonprofits and other off-campus partners.

Development

The development team assists the college and its departments with fundraising and donor relations, including identifying and communicating with prospective donors and interfacing with the university's central development office.

Communications

The communications team manages the college’s branding, web content, social media, media relations and promotional materials. It also provides support to social media and web content managers in college subunits.
