Jackson's SEDAAG paper honored

Sarah Jackson won the 2022 SEDAAG Graduate Honors Student Paper Competition for her paper, “Urban-Rural Tornado Occurrence in the Midwestern & Southern U.S.”  The paper was presented at the annual meeting  November 21–22, 2022, in Atlanta, GA.

The Department of Geography is pleased to announce its graduate instructional award winners for 2021–2022.

  • Department of Geography Graduate Instructor Award — This award recognizes outstanding graduate student instructors.

Jackson wins Patterson prize

Geography grad student Sarah Jackson was announced as this year's winner of the university's Rhude M. Patterson Fellowship.  The $5000 award is given each year to a female grad student in the humanities or social sciences who has exhibited excellence in her field. Congratulations, Sarah!

Geography major Windsor wins Sullivan Award

USC geography major Claire Windsor received one of two Algernon Sydney Sullivan Awards, the schools's highest undergraduate honor, in recognition of her work to encourage sustainability on campus.. Claire also won the Pastides Sustainability Award and the Outstanding Achievement and Student Triumph Award.
