Accelerated Bachelors/Graduate Degree Program

If you are a current student with a GPA of 3.5 or above and are already conducting research, our accelerated bachelor's/graduate program could be an ideal way for you to earn a graduate degree while you finish your undergraduate work.

You may apply for this program during the spring of your junior year, or in the semester in which you reach 90 undergraduate credit hours.

Coursework and Schedule

If accepted to the program, you'll take a combination of undergraduate and graduate courses in your fourth year of undergraduate study and concentrate on graduate work in your fifth year, earning a bachelor’s degree in your fourth year and the opportunity to earn a master’s degree the following year. The accelerated plan allows you to count 12 credit hours of graduate course work (500 level and above) towards both the undergraduate and graduate degree.

As research experience is essential for a graduate degree, you'll need to arrange to participate in a research project in a faculty member’s research program prior to applying for the Accelerated Bachelor’s/Graduate program.  This program is ideal for students already conducting independent research in a faculty laboratory, and/or for students who started with sufficient AP or IB credits that they could graduate a semester or more earlier if not for this plan.
