6 Things To Do After Deciding That You're #GoingGarnet

So, you just decided that the University of South Carolina will be your next home – now what?

First, you have to take a selfie with your Yes! or Welcome Book packet to announce you are #GoingGarnet, and tag us!

Shortly after receiving your acceptance, you can register for Admitted Student Day.

This is an optional event where the university welcomes new students to campus, offering information and building excitement for the next four years. You will go on a campus tour, visit the student services fair, preview housing arrangements, learn about student life and meet with professors and students in your college program. It was at ASD that I fell in love with my tourism program and met a mentor who ended up being there for me throughout my freshman year. The college presentation also allowed my parents to understand what it is I am studying and why it matters. Safe to say, we both left happy.

Connect with other Gamecocks on the Admitted Student Facebook group.

After making new friends at Admitted Student Day, why not keep the ball rolling and meet more future Gamecocks in the class of 2026 Facebook group. Here you can ask questions about the enrollment process, meet possible roommates and bond over both, your excitement and nerves!

Show your Gamecock pride with our free phone and laptop backgrounds!

After committing to UofSC, all of the sudden the only t-shirts you will want to wear will be garnet. While, you can only buy so many shirts, we designed several cool and free backgrounds for you to show off your school pride on your phone, watch and laptop!

Review the Admitted Student Guide.

Enrolling for college can be overwhelming, so we created a step-by-step guide for you. Here you can find important dates, how to apply for housing, financial aid information and more. This will be your lifeline for the next few months.

Visit UofSC!

I personally visited campus multiple times because I just couldn’t get enough. Whether you're an out of state student like me and are dying to see the sunshine, or live down the street, there is always a reason to come to campus.

Congratulations on your acceptance and we can’t wait to see you on campus soon!
