Career Center Student Employment Efforts  

  • Amy Gardner, manager of student employment of the Career Center shared initiatives the Career Center is working on to enhance the student employment experience on campus.
  • Transforming on-campus employment into a high-impact practice
    • Provide consultation and support for on-campus employers surrounding student employment
    • Remove barriers to employment, increase access
    • Streamline on-campus positions through Handshake
    • Develop supervisor training
    • Holistic approach to student supervision
  • Benchmark survey for student staff supervisors
    • Identify areas of need, gaps in process, and how to best serve on-campus
    • Pay analysis
    • Understand the pulse of on-campus employment and create positive change for students and staff
  • Access & Inclusion
    • Continuous education for both students and staff surrounding access and inclusion in the student employment experience
    • Streamline job application process so that students can equally access, understand, navigate, interact with, and discover opportunities for their success
    • Develop intentional and meaningful job descriptions
