Awards given to undergraduate students in two categories: those with a demonstrated commitment to careers related to the environment; and Native American and Alaska Native students with a demonstrated commitment to careers related either to tribal public policy or to Native health care.
Requires campus nomination. UofSC may nominate up to eight applicants annually - four in the environmental category, and four in the Native American or Alaska Native category.
Up to $7000 for tuition, room, board or other educational expenses, and attendance at 4-day annual Udall Scholar Orientation in Tuscon AZ.

Supports eligible undergraduates studying oceanic, environmental, biological, and atmospheric sciences, mathematics, engineering, remote sensing technology, physical and social sciences including geography, physics, hydrology, geomatics, or teacher education that support NOAA's programs and mission. Up to $19,000 for academic expenses (stipend of $9500 each year), as well as a 10-week full-time paid summer internship with a NOAA facility (valued at $7000).
Supports graduate study for students with a commitment to a career in public service who are poised to be change agents in their careers and in the world. Up to $30,000 for graduate study in any field for those planning a career in public service, broadly defined.
