Leading Edge Fellowships place recent PhDs in the humanities and humanistic social sciences in one-year positions with nonprofit organizations working for social justice.
The fellowship aims to promote diverse career outcomes for humanities PhDs and demonstrates the potential of humanistic knowledge and methods to solve problems, build capacity, and advance justice and equity in society.
Applicants apply through ACLS to specific partner organizations based on position/project descriptions.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa support and have completed their PhD within the past five years.
The competition typically takes place during the spring with a deadline in early May.
Award Value
$60,000 plus health insurance and professional development funding.
