About this Fellowship
The Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) is a two-year, paid, competency-based training and service program that provides associates hands-on experience in public health. It offers on-the-job training, unique field assignments and mentoring from CDC employees. Applicants must have graduated college within the past two years or plan to graduate by July 1 of the application year, have official transcripts showing a 3.0 GPA on an eligible degree. Applicants must also be willing to commit to full-time work for two years, relocate anywhere in the US (including US territories) at their own expense, and work in a state, tribal, local, or territorial public health department, nongovernmental organization, or CDC quarantine station.
PHAP is a training program for early-career public health professionals who have a recent college degree and an interest in public service and public health. Applicants must have completed their most recent degree within the past two years to be eligible. The application portal typically opens in January and is available for a limited period of time.
