Parking opens garages ahead of Ian

With Tropical Storm Ian forecast to hit South Carolina, the university’s Parking and Transportation Services has made the following adjustments to parking until Monday (Oct. 3):

Parking opens garages Jan. 21-23

With campus closing on Friday, January 21 due to predicted inclement weather, UofSC Parking and Transportation Services will allow students, faculty and staff to park on the lower levels of the Bull St. Garage and the metered spaces on the lower two levels in the Pendleton St. Garage.

Postal Services hours lowered at 1600 Hampton

Postal Services' USPS Customer Retail Counter at 1600 Hampton Street will be open on Monday, Aug. 16 from 12-3 p.m., and those hours will remain until Friday, Sept. 10. The change will help staff handle the fall 2021 move-in of students.

Postal Services pausing campus delivery for rest of 2020

Due to many university buildings being secured for the remainder of 2020, Postal Services is stopping campus delivery until 2021. Departments can pick up USPS and campus mail at 1600 Hampton St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Monday through Friday starting on Mon., November 30.

Postal Services sets 3 spring Passport Fairs

This spring, Postal Services will offer three passport fairs in its student mail center in the Russell House in January and February. Passport processing will be available from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 29, Feb. 7 and Feb. 21.

Meters closed at Close-Hipp on Tuesday

Events on Tuesday around College St. will close all metered parking around Close-Hipp throughout the day. Campus community members should find alternate parking like in the Barnwell St. lot (AD7) and take the North Loop shuttle that drops off at Close-Hipp.

Lot AD1 closing July 15-17

Maintenance work will close the parking lot at Blossom and Park streets (lot AD1) Monday through Wednesday (July 15-17). Three handicap spaces will be available in the lot that is normally open to anyone on the Columbia campus with a parking pass. Parking Services recommends the lot across Blossom Street (AD3) or in the Greek Village as alternates during the maintenance.

Plan for commencement traffic around Colonial Life Arena

With commencement ceremonies set for Friday and Saturday (May 10-11), Parking and Transportation Services urges all faculty, staff and visitors to allow for additional time to navigate traffic and consider utilizing shuttle service while traveling to Colonial Life Arena this weekend.

Second Spring Passport Fair on March 27

The University of South Carolina hosts its second passport fair during the spring semester on Wednesday, March 27 in the Golden Spur Gameroom, located in the basement of the Russell House.

UofSC welcomes NCAA Tournament to Colonial Life Arena

The University of South Carolina is hosting the first and second rounds of the 2019 NCAA Tournament at Colonial Life Arena, March 22-24, welcoming thousands of visitors to campus and the city of Columbia for the event. The city, the COMET bus service and the university have created a transportation plan for the week for visitors and regular commuters.

Parking lot FS10 altered during NCAA Tournament week

With crews coming in to set up for the NCAA Tournament in Colonial Life Arena, parking lot FS10, located behind the arena on Gadsden Street, will lose over half its spaces on March 18-19. The lot will be completely closed to faculty and staff over March 20-24.
