Professor Beverung received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Santa Fe Community College in 1984. She completed her Bachelor Degree in Nursing through the University of South Carolina the Spartanburg Campus in 1990. Her Master Degree in Nursing focused on Adult Populations and was received from the University of South Alabama in 2002. She is currently completing her Educational Doctorate at the University of Alabama with a focus in Nursing Education.
Professor Beverung currently teaches the Medical-Surgical courses and Professional Nursing Practice.
Current research is related to factors that impact student success in upper division course work and NCLEX -RN.

Primary area of practice has been in the acute care setting focusing on cardiovascular health from ICU to Cardiac Rehab. Additional areas have included post anesthesia care, oncology, physical rehabilitation and infection control.
