Sarah Jackson is the Assistant Director of the Suzuki Strings at the University of South Carolina. She holds a Master of Music degree from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of South Carolina, both in cello performance. She has studied cello and Suzuki pedagogy with Dr. Tanya Carey. She taught cello lessons and classes for several years at the Hyde Park Suzuki Institute and the MAGIC program in Chicago. In South Carolina, she studied with Dr. Robert Jesselson and taught in the USC String Project and other community programs.
Ms. Jackson was an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and performed in the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Jackson also plays in a string quartet with her three sisters and is the cellist in the jazz group, "Swing 42".
In 2009, her quartet from Roosevelt University traveled to Quito, Ecuador to take part in the Mes Cultural Franz Liszt. Ms. Jackson has participated in summer festivals including the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Killington Music Festival, Hot Springs Music Festival in Arkansas and the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts.
