University Band

The University Band, under the direction of Dr. Quintus Wrighten, is a diverse ensemble consisting of musicians from across campus, regardless of their degree program.

In the Fall, the group rehearses on Monday nights from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and performs one concert in the Koger Center for the Arts.

In the Spring, there are two sections of the band, each rehearsing from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. at the School of Music. Both sections perform two concerts during the Spring semester.

How to Join

There are no auditions required for enrollment in any of the University Bands.

Fall - Students should enroll in MUSC 122.
Spring - Students seeking an additional challenge should enroll in the Tuesday/Thursday section of the University Band as this section plays slightly more challenging repertoire in the Spring. Both sections rehearse from 4:30–6:00 p.m. in room 016 in the School of Music and present two concerts.
Tuesday/Thursday Band: MUSC 122, Section 001
Monday/Wednesday Band: MUSC 122, Section 002
