“The McNair Scholarship has been an amazing experience thus far, and I am excited to have three more years to be a part of the Top Scholar community. My scholarship has helped me make connections and gain experiences that have shaped the course of my college career and my future. Being a part of the Top Scholar community has provided me with numerous friendships and mentorships that will last beyond my time at the University of South Carolina. Coming to a big public university from a small high school, I was nervous about the change in size of the student body. However, the sense of closeness and community provided by the Top Scholar community made the transition feel natural. I am honored to be a McNair Scholar and am so glad that I decided to become a Gamecock.”
