Nominate an Award Winner

The South Carolina Honors College presents two awards to its alumni each year at an annual Honors College Homecoming Reception: the Distinguished Honors Alumni Award (for alumni more than 10 years removed from graduation) and the Young Honors Alumni Award (for alumni age 35 and under). We encourage you to nominate your classmates or yourself for recognition.

Deadlines

Nominations for our alumni awards are accepted all year. The application deadline is Monday, July 1, 2024. Nominations received after this deadline will be held for consideration for next year’s awards.

Judge Linda Stephens

Our 2023 Distinguished Honors Alumni recipient Judge Linda Stephens has had a distinguished legal career spanning four decades, including eleven years as a North Carolina Court of Appeals judge, four years as a deputy commissioner at the N.C. Industrial Commission and over 20 years of private practice.

Nick Riley 

Named our 2023 Distinguished Young Honors Alumni recipient, Nick Riley earned his Ph.D. in chemistry in 2018 and became a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University. He is currently an assistant professor of chemistry at the University of Washington where his research combines analytical chemistry and chemical biology.
